If only I had had some ASA200 film, these would have come out perfect. These were way overexposed, but I was able to salvage them. Barely.

And here is the setup: flim, clear cd case cover, iPhone for backlight. Pretty ghetto, but it works as well as anything else I’ve tried.

After a botched attempt (due to me having to work extra for a deadline), we managed to get an hour or so in to get some photos.

I am really happy with how they came out. I realize now that I am going to have to use some external flash. I was trying to use all natural light, but I don’t know if I can get the desired effect and depth of field with it alone. Lindsay was able to talk Old City Java into letting us use their awesome space. We are gonna shoot/re-shoot some other items after the beginning of the year and I can’t wait!

I finally took some photos that I want to post, but I don’t think I am gonna be able to get through all of them tonight and be able to post them. I will say though, I am really excited and happy with they have come out so far.

Since getting my iPhone I have been taking a lot of photos with it. It’s so much fun with the filters/apps that are available. I’ll post some.

I’m still alive…. I’m planning on posting the photos either tomorrow or sometime this weekend!

I normally don’t like to photoshop photos that much beyond corrections and touch-ups, but these, I took with the intention of editing. I still didn’t go as crazy as I originally thought I would. Lucky for you!

These were fun, and I might just have to do another shoot, but I might think-ahead on that one.

Until today (well, since Monday but again, I’ve been busy)…. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to write about, just photos.

Since I had the flashes set up, I decided to take a few shots of the closest thing to me…some flowers. I definitely, definitely didn’t expect to get anything usable, especially something I would really like. Fun stuff!

Now for some catch-up… We had our house-warming get-together this past weekend. It was a ton of fun. I was kinda nervous about being a host, since I had never had the chance to be the party-thrower before. I started off halfway embarrassing myself when I couldn’t get the damn charcoal to light. Yes, even after soaking it with lighter fluid. And NO, it wasn’t matchlight, but it will be next time. I learned my lesson there.

But, it did finally light and then we were cooking (with lava). Only, I had about 3 times as much charcoal as I needed. I burned a few things, I burned them really bad. Lucky for me, we had plenty of food. I took off the excess charcoal and from there on out, I think I did a pretty good job. I didn’t burn anything from that point on, and judging by the fact that no one threw up before they left, I would say that I didn’t undercook anything.

After the food, it was just beer and hanging out. My house did a sweet job holding everyone. I just hope a few people decide to come back.

Shauna’s friend, Jacie, got us these flowers when we moved in. Oddly, they still look really healthy (at least to me!)

Anyway, before his neighbors got home we shot a few off. Then we ate. Stephen made some darn good burgers! I love cooking out. I can’t wait to do it here. Anyway, while still using the 70-200 from work, I snapped a few of the kids blowing stuff up. Ahhhh, the good ol’ days.

On a side note, I cut my grass for the first time today. Our back yard is rough… And apparently, the previous person welded. Well, they had a crap ton of old welding rods, though none of them were used. They were just buried in the yard. So maybe he just like burying things…who knows?

Anyway, I finally took a few minutes to ride my bmx. This of course resulted in me taking a few pictures with the borrowed lens. This is the first time in a while that I have truly hurt after riding, I think between lifting boxes and moving stuff around for the past week, it didn’t take much real physical activity to completely wreck me. Ugh, even after some advil and a few hot showers I still hurt. But then again, the built-in shelves we built today only made it worse. More on that tomorrow…on to photos.

Since moving into the new house, we haven’t had to keep Capone is his cage. He has found a new spot to chill all day. Lucky for him, because the day he tears up the couch, or anything for that matter, he will have to go back to the cage. Here he is doing what he does almost 90% of the day… (we clean this at least once a day)

They have updated some of the artwork/structures downtown. I like most of them, especially this huge flower. I think I am attracted to the rust.

This graffiti wall downtown is covered in really cool art. There is pen work, spray paint, wheat paste, crayons, markers, you name it. Knoxville need more walls like this. Graffiti shouldn’t have to be illegal, most larger cities have lots of walls specifically for graffiti

It’s hard to walk around downtown and not take at least one shot of the Tennessee Theatre. This one came out horrible, I almost cut off the tops of the buildings

I didn’t care for the rest of this sculpture, but the cowboy lounging was kinda cool.

I have been facing a just-off-white wall since I started here last year. It wasn’t necessarily bad, but looking at a wall got old. So we brainstormed about all the possibilities, and finally, came up with a new arrangement.

I’m stoked! The brown desk is the freelancers desk and the light faux-wood desk is mine (yes the one with all the stuff on it). It’s been nice to look out and be able to see things. Plus my desk is larger now, so I don’t feel as cramped since I have to keep the scanner and memory card ready on my desk. Refreshing…..indeed.

I really like the new setup. (Don’t mind the different “logo” I don’t have the other stuff at work with me)
