I had everything set up to shoot my new/replacement single speed bike so why not set my BMX bike up and shoot it too?! I mean, I did put new grips on…

I posted a while back about getting a single speed bike for commuting to-and-from work. Well, not long after getting it I took it to the bike shop to have them put the track cog on. While doing that we realized that the back-end wasn’t made “square.” So, that was around July last year. I just now got the replacement frame. It wasn’t a big deal, the bike was rideable but it was the fact that the frame wasn’t right.

Since my previous frame was a 2008 model Felt didn’t make the color that I had. Again, no biggie. The offered me white or black. Of course I took the black.

Man, the black and gold looks f-ing sweet!

I took a ton of photos last night at the skatepark. So, hopefully, I will have something tonight. I’ve got a few sequences that may take a bit, so they may come later.

I finally got outside to use my new beast, and it was simply awesome. I am definitely fighting it while I adjust to it, but all went well.

Unfortunately, no one but Stephen was riding. Not that taking pictures of Stephen is bad, but I didn’t want to work him like a pack-mule. But he didn’t seem to mind too much. I just wanted to take as many photos as possible.

Having 51 focus points is nice. My Canon had 9. It really allows for fine-tuning the focal point of the picture. This feature isn’t really as necessary when doing still shots, but when using the continuous focusing (for moving objects) it makes all the difference. Point the camera, let it lock-on and then just snap when the time is right.

I now see that having a telephoto would be nice, cause 70mm just doesn’t quite cover it. When I had the Canon, the 70mm was more like 105mm due to the smaller sensor. But now, it’s just plain 70mm. Oh well, just another purchase sometime down the road. Hmmm, tele or wide?!?! Ugh…
