Phew! This weekend was so crammed packed full of awesomeness!

It all started out on Thursday. I drove to Nashville to pick up Robyn. I left home about noon and got there in about 3 hours. The drive to Nashville isn’t bad at all, at least not during mid-day and when you are rested!

Nashville’s airport is probably one of the easiest to navigate I have been to, granted I haven’t been to all that many. As soon as you walk in signs point you directly where you need to go. Which for just about all flights, was about 40 feet from the door. It was so simple that I thought I was in the wrong place and actually walked around the entire airport to make sure. It just seemed to easy.

Also, the airport has wi-fi service through boingo. Boingo is nice because you have two options, you can either prepay for internet access or you can “watch” 15 secs of an ad and get 15 minutes free. Guess what I did? Free-fifty here I come!

Anyway, I occupied the 30 minutes or so that I had to wait til Robyn’s plane landed with free internet on my iPod touch (best impulse buy ever!).

Once she landed we headed for the car and back on the interstate we go!

We got back to Knoxville around 8 or so. And a few of us hung out at the apartment and headed to pool. We swam until the pool closed at 10 and everyone kinda parted ways for the evening.

Friday we tried to wake up pretty early to get to Dollywood…that didn’t happen. Well, we did manage to wake up about 8:30, but then it was waiting on one person, then the next. We FINALLY left the house around 11. Of course we had to stop and get some food, so this was nowhere near a fast paced operation.

Dollywood was fun and suprisingly, not too busy. We hustled around the park and tried to get in as much as possible so that we could be at the Star Jam concert by 7. I had a few missions to accomplish before I could leave the park. One being that I wanted to get another turkey wrap because it was soooo good last time, the next being that I wanted to get a funnel cake (mmmmm, funnel cake) and the last being to not get nauseous! I succeeded in all three! Sweet…

We left D-wood about 6 and headed to Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge for Star 102.1’s Star Jam. I think here is where I need to mention that Robyn is a huge Good Charlotte fan, HUGE! We got to Patriot Park just in time to see the super-awesome-amazing boy band, Minuto, play. Not only did their cd not work for their background music, but they had a hard time keeping rhythm and tone while trying to sing a cappella. I have to give them an A+ for effort as they tried to make small talk with the hick-ish crowd.

After them came Metro Station, who at first was really disappointing. But as their set neared its end, they really started sounding good. They also had technical difficulties, their microphones were not working at first. Another plus for them is that the guitarist is apparently from Nashville.

Here is where the fun started for us. Good Charlotte came out and put on a hell of a show! Seriously! I haven’t really listened to them since high school. Robyn was way pumped and truthfully, so was I. they played a lot of songs I knew so I was able to get into it more than I expected. they were really good, the show went well and everyone had a good time.

Now, I don’t follow pop-culture all that much, but I was pretty stoked to see that Paris Hilton made her way into Knoxville (well, Pigeon Forge) on the 4th. For those that don’t know Paris is dating the lead singer for Good Charlotte, while her friend Nicole Richie is dating the brother of the lead singer. She must have had better things to do, as she didn’t make it. I’m not a real fan of her, but again, I thought it was cool to see her there.

To finish Friday off, we went over to Chip’s house and shot off some fireworks. I kind of felt like the party pooper, because I was so tired. I stayed to myself for the most part and eventually just got in my car and napped. Shauna was right there with me!

Saturday was lazy. Shauna and I met Robyn, Chris and Caudle at Chili’s on the strip to get lunch. After that we all came back to our apartment to gather out stuff up for the overnighter in Murfreesboro.

Luckily, we were able to stay with John’s cousin, Dallas. This was nice cause it kept costs down. We got there about 10 and after getting dinner at Waffle House (the second time over the weekend), we got to her place about midnight. Shauna, Robyn and myself had to be at the airport at like 6:30, which meant getting up at like 5:30. So we laid down for bed around 2:30! After a couple of hours of sleep, we got up and headed towards Nashville to see Robyn off.

After we left the airport, it was off to breakfast and the skatepark for me. To my surprise, I was the second person to the park at 7:30. I got to ride quite a bit before the sun started beating down with full-force. John got to the park around 10:30 or so and we got in about another hour of riding.

It got hot and we decided to go to the ever-so-conveniently placed water park that shared the same parking lot with the skatepark. We played in the wave pool and slid down the slides a few times and figured we had better head home.

End of the weekend and start for catching up on rest.

I didn’t take too many photos on this trip as a lot of it was spent either in the car or at an amusement park but here are a few in the gallery
