Shauna made some cupcakes for her boss because he is being deployed back to Iraq (or at least back to active duty). I won’t post those yet, I’ll see what Shauna wants to do with them.

Since I had the flashes set up, I decided to take a few shots of the closest thing to me…some flowers. I definitely, definitely didn’t expect to get anything usable, especially something I would really like. Fun stuff!

Now for some catch-up… We had our house-warming get-together this past weekend. It was a ton of fun. I was kinda nervous about being a host, since I had never had the chance to be the party-thrower before. I started off halfway embarrassing myself when I couldn’t get the damn charcoal to light. Yes, even after soaking it with lighter fluid. And NO, it wasn’t matchlight, but it will be next time. I learned my lesson there.

But, it did finally light and then we were cooking (with lava). Only, I had about 3 times as much charcoal as I needed. I burned a few things, I burned them really bad. Lucky for me, we had plenty of food. I took off the excess charcoal and from there on out, I think I did a pretty good job. I didn’t burn anything from that point on, and judging by the fact that no one threw up before they left, I would say that I didn’t undercook anything.

After the food, it was just beer and hanging out. My house did a sweet job holding everyone. I just hope a few people decide to come back.

Shauna’s friend, Jacie, got us these flowers when we moved in. Oddly, they still look really healthy (at least to me!)
