the rossini festival [that wasn't]

A few weeks ago, the Rossini Festival went down on Market Square. From what I understood, the festival was supposed to last the entire weekend. Going from morning ’til 9pm.

So we get on the bikes, after driving to Shoney’s for our start, and make our way downtown.

It didn’t quite follow the schedule, well, not at all. We went by Saturday around 2pm and there was nothing. No people, no food vendors, no Rossini Festival! Shauna was pretty bummed that she didn’t get to take part, and we were both bummed that we weren’t gonna be able to eat the grossly overpriced food (seriously, we were hungry). So we ended up at the Downtown Grill & Brewery. Honestly, we should probably be happy because ‘The Grill’ is one of my favorite places to eat! It was good, of course.

After we ate, I headed to the park to ride. After, we randomly drove through downtown and noticed that there were a ton of people walking around! WTF?! We park and walk to the Square. And there it is, the Rossini Festival! Kind of. It was actually a karaoke competition for 8-year-olds. It ended up being pretty fun. I had some chili-dogs and fries, while Shauna ate a funnel cake. It was a nice end to the day. I also took some photos while we were on the Square.

This was the sister foodstand to the one I ate at.

This is were Shauna’s amazing funnel cake came from.
