love at first shot

As I posted earlier, my new rig came today. I was so excited all day that I constantly found myself getting annoyed at everything. All I could think about was how bad I wanted to be home clicking away!

The D700 is amazing. Couple it with the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 lens and they both come alive. After looking at the first few photos, I was so impressed with quality of the images. I couldn’t be happier. Well, if I could find someone to trade me a Nikon Fisheye for my Canon Fisheye, then I might could be happier.

I have a ton to read about this camera to really unleash it’s potential, but for my first shots I felt pretty comfortable. The hardest part so far is getting used to the menus and dials. Canon had a main wheel that rotated to navigate with a center button for selecting. Nikon uses a “joystick” and button, which I think after time will be easier but right now it is a learning curve.

On with the pictures…

Know anyone who wants a Canon-mount Sigma 15mm Fisheye?

One way to setup the flashes. I would normally have some type of white stock for the background.

[...] I didn’t really appreciate the awesomeness of my prime lens–the 50mm. It wasn’t until I switched to Nikon and didn’t have a 50mm (or any prime for that matter). I really enjoy using the 50mm f/1.2 [...]
