braving the cold
This past Friday was cold, it was the night of our work Christmas party, First Friday and the Christmas Parade downtown.
For whatever reason, I woke up that morning and knew that I wanted to take some photos. So I drove in, as opposed to biking. Driving to work is expensive on two accounts: gas and parking. Before the “economic crisis” I could park for about 90 cents a day at the parallel spots on Central. Since this damn crisis, everyone is looking for that cheap spot. Meaning every single parallel spot downtown is taken. Which leaves me with any of the three garages, all of which charge $5 a day to park!
So I’ve devised this plan. The days that I have to drive in, I just fart around downtown (or stay over at work when I can) until around 6:30 when the garages stop charging.
That is the situation I was in on Friday. So I just put my stuff in my car, got my camera and just started walking around. I wound up at the convention center trying to recreate a shot I took while working a wedding with Waldorf.
I like what I came back with. I wished I could have made my way to the Sunsphere a little sooner to take advantage of the awesome evening glow. O’well, here they are…
